New coronavirus same family as SARS

New coronavirus same family as SARS Recently, most of us would have heard of the new virus that originate from Wuhan, China. A virus that is known to be airborne and already resulted in a few deaths. The new respiratory virus, Coronavirus, new strain shares the same family of viruses as the previously dangerous Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome: SARS. This virus is found to be contracted in small animals but has since evolved to infect humans and has been rapidly spreading. In its early stage, the infected patients will experience similar symptoms as influenza flu with high fever above 38 degree Celsius or have infection of respiratory tract which will display symptoms such as dry coughing and short of breath. As the World Health Organization (WHO) has yet to issue a statement that people should not be allow to travel to infected area, we have several precautions for those who need to travel abroad to known infected areas: Avoid crowded area or air polluted places Avoid going to live animal markets and avoid coming into contact with animals in those areas Frequently wash your hands with water and soap or alcoholic gels Do not share and use personal equipment such as facial towel, drinking glass or mask Try to stay warm all the time Aside from this, anyone who is traveling back from those risk potential area, especially young children and elderly person, if you have started to feel sick
